On a hot Boston day, White celebrated Banner 18 by sharing some cold ones with fans.
He’s friends with “your cousin from Boston,” of course he throws beers out of moving vehicles.
Derrick White shared the wealth during the Celtics’ duck boat parade Friday, tossing cold beers to fans. The newly crowned NBA champion can be seen grabbing a Coors Light from his dad, who rode the duck boat alongside him, before launching it into the crowd.
White already has a reputation as Boston’s beer guy, linking up with Samuel Adams earlier in the season for a “Your Cousin from Boston” commercial. The downtown tap room even released an exclusive Derrick White Lager on June 6 in honor of Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Beaming as he rolled along Tremont street atop a duck boat, White showed off his new front teeth. After knocking two loose and chipping another in the Celtics’ Game 5 victory over the Mavericks, he wasted no time in repairing the pearly whites.
The accident happened with 2:30 left in the second quarter, when White dove to snatch a loose ball. Instead, he missed the ball and the Mavericks’ Dereck Lively landed on his head, smashing his face into the floor. And while he was left bleeding from the mouth, White rallied to play his usual minutes, remaining a key part of Boston’s success.
