On the final “Era Night” of their centennial-season festivities, the Boston Bruins honored the last team in franchise history to hoist the Stanley Cup with a memorable reunion for most of the 2010-11 roster.
“Return of a Champion” Night featured most of the 2010-11 Bruins returning in style to TD Garden with a memorable pregame ceremony.
The 2011 Bruins made their grand entrance on a duck boat — paying homage to the wild festivities that spread across the city after Boston ended a 39-year Stanley Cup drought.
A majority of the 2010-11 squad were in attendance for Thursday’s ceremony.
Former Bruins head coach Claude Julien and assistant coach Doug Jarvis were the first ones who made their way from the amphibious transport to the frozen sheet, followed by: Daniel Paille, Andrew Ference, Shawn Thornton, Chris Kelly, Tim Thomas, Shane Hnidy, Jordan Caron, Tuukka Rask, Dennis Seidenberg, David Krejci, Steven Kampfer, Adam McQuaid, Johnny Boychuk, Brad Marchand, and Michael Ryder.
As expected, Thomas draw a huge round of cheers after leading Boston throughout that Cup run and taking home the Conn Smythe Trophy.
Marchand, the lone active player still on the Bruins roster, joined his former teammates for the ceremony — temporarily swapping out his current sweater for his old 2011 jersey.
The ceremony wrapped with both Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara making their way out on the ice. As the cheers rained down from the Garden seats, Chara hoisted the Stanley Cup while Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” — the team’s impromptu victory anthem — blared on the Garden speakers.

The current 2023-24 Bruins seemed to take a page out of the book of the title squad, as Boston doled out 23 hits against the Maple Leafs through the first 20 minutes of play.
